A traditional Shaman ritual (Hopi meaning peaceful people) to help treat the ears and head area in a non-invasive manner.
The candles are hollow and made with beeswax (and cotton), which is burnt to just below half point, whilst you lie on your side to listen to the sound that is created from the chimney effect of the hollow candle. Some say the sound it creates are like the sea or sizzling bacon, but it is a soothing sound that promotes relaxation. The method helps draw out impurities of the ear and bring the head pressure to balance.
Some benefits include:
- Irritation in ears and sinuses
- Balance of Eustachian tube
- Clears blockages like ear wax and water
- Noises in the ears, ringing, tinnitus
- Balance the pressure of the head (Headache and migraine)
- Excessive or compacted wax in the ears
- Pressure regulation: sinusitis / rhinitis / after colds / after flu / headaches / migraine / glue ear
What happens during a Hopi Ear Candling session?
You will be invited to lie sideways on a massage couch with clothes on, and we would use natural beeswax candles. You can choose to have a better effect by including a face and neck massage to help promote the clearing of any blockages or pressure.
Both ears must be treated in order to have a balanced effect even if it is only one ear that may be treatment.
After your treatment:
For maximum benefit from the treatment, it is advised that you rest afterwards; this helps your body’s natural healing process.
Drink plenty of water over the next few days to help flush away toxins. If you have any questions about the treatment, please feel free to ask us.
